NY Fashion Week SS18 Recap

1 October, 2017

Where: New York

What: Spring – Summer 2018

Calvin Klein

Simons is inspired by American territory, giving them both light and darkness and by doing this he seems to reflect a bit the political situation. But despite this what I loved… The pencil skirts, the silhouette  and the great and modern textile combo.

Victoria Beckham

One of my favorite every season, she knows how to make it everything super chic and a the same time sexy. I loved the British references in textile, the little black dress and the crystals shoes in shade green. Excellent color palette.

Oscar de La Renta

If I have to explain you what I liked about this collection I don’t know if start from the location or the collection. Make a show inside Sotheby’s headquarter has been brilliant taking me back with the head to atelier where you can feel the inspiration. Here everything is related to art and you can really feel the inspiration.  My favorite pieces are the little black dress and the denim tailleur.

The Row

This is one of my favorite American brand probably because I come from the same generation of Ashley and Mary Kate Olsen. I saw them change in the years and the level the achieve it’s amazing. I love this brand for it’s being so luxurious without being flashy. It’s kind of private and the location has been the cherries on the cake. My favorite pieces were the coat belted on the waist and the fishnet dress that was a mix between a Medieval inspiration and Alexander Mc Queen.

This is a brand that or you like or you hate and personally I love it. This collection was modern and classy at the same time. You could breath the summer in Cote D’Azur dresses by flowers and chiffon.

ADEAM & Gabriela Hearst

Just two words: effortless chic.

Monse & Jonathan Simkhai

Monse is one of my favorite new brand. Fresh but well done. I love the mix between the classic British style and the American collage style. Of course it’s a game that has to be played carefully but if you know how to mix, it can be very cool. Jonathan Simkhai is always one of my favorite from NYFW for its being so modern and not at the same time. I love its sensibility and this makes the collection a goal.
